The jobs done OS7 and they have relaunched there's some details in the thread. At a glance they shortened the mast by six metres, reworked the cockpit arrangement and added a bike much like BPVII, also fitted a special autopilot and various other tweaks plus new North Sails. Lots of details in the 40 metres solo videos in this thread.

    Thanks Corley.
I didn't realise that Dona was going to single hand the big Cat.
I know she owns the massive boat, but thought it would be Yann who would sail it in the Route de Rhum.
She is one tough lady, and a good looker too. :D

Dona is going to helm the trimaran in the North Atlantic crewed record and apparently they are going to try to capture that elusive 1000nm in 24 hour record at the same time.

Yann is going to solo Spindrift 2 in the Route du Rhum.

Loick Peyron is fixing up a sister ship of Mike Birch's Olympus Photo the Walter Greene designed trimaran to sail in the 2014 Route du Rhum. He is carrying out the work at Multiplast.

A video from Loick in French and English on his plans for the upcoming race. It seems it will be a nod to Mike Birch's classic race in 1978 using traditional navigation methods of the time.

That is fantastic. It will be interesting to see if he uses the old sail plan too. He certainly will have an updated pilot.

Agreed R.Finn, I hope Loick goes that route but it would be hard to ignore all the advances that have been made since 1978, maybe a similar sail plan with modern synthetic rigging and sails I guess will have to wait and see.

Good news for Team Lalou as well with their Multi50 Arkema receiving her new mast in Las Palmas in the Canary Islands.
