Propeller-Hull interaction

Hello,

doing a state of the art review of hull-Propeller interaction, I have found many references on measurement of thrust deduction factor and wake coefficient on big Vessel with Cb>.6.

but nothing on cats or other (quite faster ) multihull.
Does anyone know if that field has been searched before, trying to take the multihull specifity into account ( hull-hull interaction, pitching etc...) ?

Thanks

Simon

Have a look through this site for hull interaction:

Michlet provides good performance numbers for multihulls.

As far as prop performance goes there are many compromises that bring efficiency down in small boats. However hull interaction is not all that significant on small boats. Nothing like a bulk carrier where the prop is in distrbed flow field.

Hello Rick

thank you for your answer and the bibliography

Concerning Michlet, we have had some bad results on catamaran configuration. We put in hulls from the NPL series in both mono and cata configuration, and the prediction was bad at Fn>.6 for the cat, whereas it was still correct for the mono.
Does anyone have experienced that too ?

thanks

Simon

Simon
Can you give some detail on the hulls and actual measured data. I have measured data on only two cats with low displacement but Michlet was good.
