Does anyone know of plans, or can anyone offer guidance, for making wooden paddles and steering paddles for an OC?

    General dimensions I gather are:

about a 9 inch wide blade
about 10 degree angle for the paddles, 5 degrees for the steering paddle

length in relation to seated body height? I'm guessing height from nose to waterline is a good length for the loom on most canoe paddles, is this a good guide for OC's?

most blades are wood with glass or carbon, or just solid wood, what types of wood should be used? What thickness? (I'm thinking 1/4 inch WRC with 4 oz glass on the power side for the blade, not sure if WRC is strong enough for the loom)

    Thanks!
