I saw it on Gumtree & really don't live that far away,
I wouldn't be bothered unless I was getting paid to inspect or remove it......... may be better to build new considering there's heaps to spend beyond the hull & deck stage & what a Simpson boat might sell for,....... of course it might be great & the rot mentioned might not be extensive, bit of ply, epoxy, paint, nice set of steps/mullet extensions to the transoms, pair of outboards & motor around while you sneak up on all the other details & rig etc.

I've also seen this 40' Simpson catamaran at Cliffy's boat yard in Cannons Creek, Victoria. Needs some remedial work but could be a good head start for someone who is considering building it's not as old as the other boat. $4000 for bare hulls including $800 plans that would give you a bit of a head start if building.

The Simpsons have proved to be seaworthy and capable cruisers over the years.

It's quite an eye opener walking around the yard makes you realise the importance of not leaving builds with an open ended finishing date. Sad to see so many broken dreams weathering away.
