Do you mean the early open wing Val (like a big Tremolino) or the later Val III? The original DT was something of a giant killer in its day. I imagine like most small, light, high-powered boats it would be at a disadvantage once the sea roughed up a bit, but would probably eat the early Val otherwise. The Val III is a much more powerful boat than the MkI.

Jamez / Nzclipper,

You guys are in this together, right?
Jamez gives us a link, and the video has Nzclipper as the "author".

Anyway, I'll bite. What the heck is a Val111? I've been watching Newick as much as possible from landlocked Texas, but I have never seen or heard of this boat.

Please provide some info, since this looks to be just about what I want. The only Val I ever knew of was a 31 in various versions.

Help, Please. I might do something crazy without info.

Marc

It is my old boat. Since that video was taken, we (owned by 3 of us) did a bit of a refit. New paint, new foils, new sails etc.

Thats one beautiful trimaran. I dont think Dick is capable of designing an ugly boat some would argue the Tremolino was ugly but I think of it as attractively functional. Anyway the new Demon Tricycle looks like a great little boat.

There has been a lot of talk about a trimaran class that would be the multihull versing of the mini 650. And I think the val111 would be a great place to start for such an adventure. And the demon tricycle appears to be a smaller version of the val111 in some respects.

There are a lot of val111 pictures on the internet if you look for them.
