I would like to learn to sail but it is way to late in my life and no sailboats, or water, in the Texas Panhandle. Which lake do you sail down in that part of Texas?

Lake Meredith looks plenty big where you are. You might check out this boat in Lubbock, and ask him where he sailed. http://lubbock.craigslist.org/boa/5707324519.html
That kind of a boat will be forgiving to learn on. A little larger than I would have wanted.

We have lots of lakes in the DFW area.
    Lake grapevine
    Eagle Mountain Lake (misnamed)
    Lake Arlington
    Joe Pool Lake
    Lewisville Lake
    Lake Ray Hubbard
    Lavon Lake

Lake Meredith is just about gone. Lots of years of draught. It did rain a little last year but I don't think the water ever got up to the lowest boat ramp. It's going to take several wet years to fill it again. Very small fishing boats still use it.

I can't imagine what a sailboat is doing in Lubbock, someone must have made a wrong turn.

I just looked on Google maps - that is amazing how much is gone compared to the road map version. Probably an old picture also.

+1. Am late to this thread. Essentially an outrigger, would you say? So well done, this boat!

I can't imagine standing up to sail this boat.
It looks really heavy for the minimal sail area.
I can't imagine staying inside the Cabin, except on the trailer.
That mast is going to snap right off before you get to the limit of the righting moment.
I doubt it is going to sail to weather very well at all.

I would say, from what little I know and have recently learned, Mr. Upchurch's point re the mast is well taken. Stays and some step work might help, not sure. I just know I had to add stays on my outrigger and have yet to sail in serious pressure. Seems best to err on the overkill side. I had a 6500 lb eye fitting bend under less than 300 lbs side pressure. It might not have been a serious problem off shore, but I am glad I was not pushing it and find out...BTW, took three weeks to get back to that point...FWIW from a very multi hull naive dodger.

Small Multihulls with shelter for overnighting are rare. I've found an old design of Roberto Lucci and Paolo Orlandini with an interesting design in MULTIHULL INTERNATIONAL 103, August 1976. But I do not know if this cat has ever been built by CANTIERI CONAVER, Milano, ITALY. They are better known for their Proa 42 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8W0gHG_VCH0 .
