Multi-Hull Concept Boat

Hey, I am working on a project with several other people on designing a fast, light-weight multihull. I wanted to get some input, as far as the design aspect goes, on considerations we need to look at.

The model was draw using Pro/Engineer. The linking section between the two sponsons is about 8' long, two layer foam-core Kevlar sheeting. The boat itself is around 19' long.

The idea with the shape is that at high speed it will plane on the rear of the center hull as well as the tip of the two rear sponsons. At lower speeds, the sponsons sit in the water where they are level, pulling the back end out of the water some to reduce drag.

Again, we are a small team that work on this in our off-time. As far as materials go, we are still working on deciding which various composites, epoxies, and other materials to use. The design of the hull is our biggest concern. If you need more info PM me.

Why re-invent the wheel? Take a look at current pickle forks and see what you can improve on. The drag boats use prop lift to lift the rear of the boat completely out of the water and just ride on the sponsons and the bottom half of the prop.

What's the purpose of the boat? Recreation? Racing?
