That's a brilliant find, Corley - well done.

Have you PM'd Oldsailor from here? He was an early multi sailor in Oz and knew Lock.

I can put you in contact with Lock's old draughtsman, JB. He joined lock in the mid '80s but may have some background on the K25. Unfortunately, there wasn't a huge amount written about the boat.

Steve Clark says that the tris were not banned from the C Class; instead, from the very beginning the C Class was written for cats and therefore when the tris were sometimes allowed in, it was simply for interest. It is interesting, though, that the same people who complained that they were being discriminated against by not being allowed into mono races were quite happy to not allow a tri into their cat races!

The pic certainly looks like the tall guy sailing off GLYC, with the point of Raymond Island in the background.

The trimaran has been in our family for over 40 years I can remember climbing over the main hull in our backyard at Glen Huntly as a kid prior to it deteriorating beyond repair. It used to sit on the beach at Blairgowrie where my parents were members of the club interestingly in the time it was there so was Miss Nylex with it's wing mast the two boats certainly provided an interesting contrast to the little mirrors and minnows that were popular at that time somewhere I have an aerial shot of the two c class multis sitting on the beach together. Previously it was based at the Frankston Yacht Club which was just like a little bayside resort at that time.
