Has a lot of Derek Kelsall and also Gilles Gahinet look about it - could be a stretched Gahinet - looks very good IMO.

And right you are, I believe that it is a Gilles Gahinet designed, OCQUETEAU built Speed 770. Very little information available. If anyone has any ideas about the quality, design, or other characteristics, it would be much appreciated. I plan to race on San Francisco bay and some coastal ocean racing.

Thanks for the comments, and for that cool photo and article Gary. I wish that I could parlay Francais.
I think that I am going to give this boat a pass though. It needs the interior headliner stripped out cabin wide, the exterior is all checked and faded, it needs sails, there is no trailer- just more work than I want to get into.
There is a couple of things that give me pause even with all that- the amas are sealed from the factory- one article said "built like a surfboard", which I guess means layed up over a foam blank. I don't know that this is a sound construction method. Which brings up the second and third issues- the boat floats with both amas in the water at rest, it seems to be mostly on its lines but may be a bit heavy, not terribly so. But the whole design is really low in the water, the flair for the cabin has less than a foot of clearance and the beams have about a foot. I think that it would go through waves here on SF Bay and be very wet a maybe a bit slow. Comments? The seller is asking $8,000.00

Hello,
I'm french and sorry for my bad english.
there is a lot of this boat in sounth fance.
The resale value is around less than 10000E in good condition.
It usefull to be a correct boat for cruise, it's an old design but work good.
I know that there is a point to be care: be carrefull that the joinction between the float and the hull are in good condition(aluminium profil?In english i'm not sure).
I know that in France it is a good compromize for prize and performance.
I have few links about it if you whant but they are all in Français if want.

I wish I was in a position to buy it. Looks like a great boat from my veiw. A great extended camp cruiser/ Island hopper. Maybe more judging from what I've seen in pocket cruisers.
