Earl Edwards Rave picklefork

Does anybody know what happened with Earl Edwards and the 118' picklefork tri, Rave, he was building on Kauai? I remember reading about the boat and Edwards back in 1999, but it has been quiet since then. As far as I remember the platform was about ready to hit the water as an empty shell back then.

A friend of mine that lives in Kauai told me that it's still an unfinished shell with no rig.
You can see it quite well on Google Earth.

How very sad! Getting that far but not getting a rig on it and some sails.

Found it on Google: http://maps.google.com/maps/mm?ie=UT...&t=h&z=18&om=1

Spruce Goose syndrome perhaps? Wobbly without X beams.

Excellent photograph. Thanks.

RAVE is Certified with the Coast Guard, completing motored maneuvers with temporary dagger board. Final dagger board and spar soon to be completed. There are numerous hours un-seen by "google earth", progress is daily. Edwards Boat CO still kickin'.

Wow thats a hell of an achievement! I thought building a Formula 40 trimaran was a large project, huge props to the builder for plugging away at such a massive task. I found an entry on multihull boatbuilder about the tri interesting if like me you have not heard of the boat before.
