Downwind tacking angles

    I had my son copy out table 13 from Rob James book for speeds required when downwind tacking. Silver Raven requested it and it might help people decide what sort of chute their boat needs. The most benefits are realized in light winds. The farther off course you go the faster you need to be! And in different wind strengths different angles should be used. James likes his 60 degrees but there is room for lots of fine tuning as well as sailing straight.

    Thanks for posting that Cavalier mk2. In the Ian farrier forum under files there is the wind strength sail area charts for his boats, including the corsairs range of trimarans.
