| Dagger Boards in center board casing I have a Shearwater Catamaran 16ft 6 one! And want to fit a set of dagger boards I have in the centre bord casing. The dagger boards are shorter than the centre boards so when in the casing they are half the length. If I just extened the length with a simple attached pole to lift up and down would this work? My concern is that the pessure on the top of the dagger board when sailing would be on the middle of the centre board casing and could this cause the casing to crack ? Any help or advise before I try them out! |

| Don't do it Hello 2005 I would not use a simple pole on a case that is only strengthened top and bottom. You need to remake the boards so that they bear on the top. Its not that hard to do with some glass and wood. Grind the top of the board away and glue the extra timber on. Then in the depression at the join glass in some uni going up and down. Lots less work that repairing a broken case. cheers Phil |
