I am hoping that the a-boards supplement the center dagger board, not replace it. I do hope that I can reduce its area, but I will test and see how it works out. My float boards will extend about 4' below the bottoms, with a 12" cord. That is as long as my current mold will allow, but if needed, I can always build some longer. I am expecting them to help make up for my added sail area, help keep from driving the leeward float under, and the 2 degree tow-in should help keep the boat from dragging sideways. I am installing a lifting/downhaul system that "should" allow me to raise or lower the boards from the cockpit- but not under load. The 4' length should allow the boat to tack upwind without messing with the boards- the upwind board will probably clear the water in smooth conditions. Lots of "guessing", I should have the boat back in the water in late April for testing. B

In that part one video, at the 1.54-2.03 min mark you get a couple of glimpses of the Kraken #1 trimaran "Ringo". I am in the cockpit there, together with Dave Green and Lock Crowther. Ringo set the record for that race even though we were becalmed for most of one day in the doldrums.

Do the buc 24 plans include a mast built from an aluminum tube? What do you guys plan to use for the rigs on your build projects?

Yes the Buc plans include all the info for a tubular mast with dimensioned dwgs of mast fittings you can make yourself.
If you are interested I have a set of plans ready to go.

A friend has purchased the custom stretched Buc- I am really interested in the details of how and where it is modified. From the pics, the cabin is longer, the bow appears to be more plumb, and the floats look longer. None of the info shows the ply details, but it really looks well built and detailed. I will take measurements and post them when it is available. It will be in town in about a month, and will probably be docked across from the club where I keep mine. We should enjoy having two Bucs in the same place, I think the Corsair owners will take notice B

Finally had a ride on a Corsair today. It was a 750 Dash. For a short review all I can say is the difference between the monos and the tris is comical. The so called training wheels suit me just fine, more important is the wife's impression, She's still smiling.

I guess we have another multi convert. Diego, I suspect the Dash sails a lot like my Buc 24. I haven't sailed a dash or against one in a race, just the C-24 MK-IIs. They carry their floats a little lower so they heal less than the Buc, but not that big of a difference, and my rig size is about the same as the dash and most of the other proportions are close. B

The wife and I were looking at a MK1. Shw enjoyed the dofference in ride. Makes things better when the other half agrees.
