    rot, a rotten subject

Yes, my boat had a small amount of rot in the skin ply around all four stays. Easy enough to patch, and it has not come back. On my boat, I think it started in the small backing blocks for the stainless plates. I eliminated them, and the plates are still tight after five years.

Bruce. We are sliding into winter here, so you must be into early summer by now.
What are your plans for racing your B24 this season, or are you concentrating on getting your B33 into the water.
Very interested in how you are going. :D
    Cheers. Paddy.

    too many boats

I "thought" I would have one of them in the water by now, but--. I am missing one of our major regattas this weekend, and I am ready to sail my own boat again. I let "scope creep" happen on the 33, and took on too much for the time avai!able. I am going to !launch one or the other bucs soon, finished or not.
The 33 is looking nice, and I have most of the big projects done, but not the folding system this season. I do have new outer beams to replace the old ones.
I will try to post some new pictures soon.

    Thanks Bruce.
Don't sacrifice sailing time on the B24, to working time on the B33.
Remember summer sailing time is precious.

    old rudders

So OS- I guess you built this with a 14 degree kink in the rudder post?
It has held together pretty well considering.
It might help explain why my 33 didn't steer very well

Good ONYA Bruce. Good luck with your racing.
I suspect the kink in the rudder post is a result of grounding. One of the reasons I prefer 'over the transom' rudders with up/down leads to jam cleats.
Just as a matter of interest I have just shipped my 50th set of B24 plans. There must be some of them sailing somewhere.
I wish we could hear from them.

To all those people who emailed off here we took a moment to darken the lines which can now be seen at the link in the above post, this is a fun little design undertaking ;-)
