Book Inquiry - catamaran hull shape/profiles/ratios & hull design

Hi Guys,

I wanted to ask those with experience in boat design what books would you recommend on:

firstly - specifically catamaran hull shape/profiles/ratios and composite hull design
secondary - sailing catamaran design in general

I am a Mechanical Engineering major and have been working on some design ideas for a while now. A parametric model is coming along and I am running some FEA/CFD simulations.

I wish to move to a more comprehensive model but would like to study up first on terminology/lexicon and the ratios of various dimensions. I feel I can save a lot of time by reading some material instead of coming to those conclusions on my own.

*this inquiry is with respect to a composite sailing leisure (internal living space - not bare racing hull) catamaran (75-150ft)

Although I am into triamarans, I would still appreciate a list of your titles, and maybe even a short narrative, few words about the content of each book.

the following reference is pretty good:

V. Dubrovsky and A. Lyakhovitsky, Multi-Hull Ships, Backbone Publishing, 2001

One book you can't go past is "Design for fast sailing". AYRS #82.
It is by Edmond Bruce & Harry Morse, the gurus of design, not just for speed but rather maximum sailing efficiency. It is still available .
