    In my uneductaed opinion, based purely on watching videos on the net, ETNZ seems to have their foils further aft, and they also seem more stable fore and aft. How does that tie in with your above statement?

    =============
    I don't know-I'd have to know a lot more -particularly where the CG is on both boats. I found this in my files-can't vouch for the accuracy:

    Sounds like a move toward the Kiwi (+Prada) solution on both counts!

    If they are moved back it is a move towards better foiling, and ETNZ's boats were built to foil, so it's not like they are just copying them. Grant Simmer said in an interview recently boat 1 wasn't designed a foiler, but changed during contruction.

    The only thing I judged the further back boards on, is if you have the hulls of boat 1 aligned like that in the picture, they would be further apart than they are on the paper for boat 2.

    Sources saying that Oracle's boat 2 will launch April 23rd, I will be in San Francisco for a conference the 24th to the 27th, so hopefully I can see second day testing.

    Moving the foils back would not likely be a "move towards better foiling"-it would reduce pitch stability. While I don't have enough info to compare with TNZ it is unlikely that moving foils back on Oracle would be an improvement unless something else has changed big time-like the CG.

    Hi All - The AC72's are supposed to be designed so they can be pulled apart and flat packed port to port. But the Teams are transporting them assembled. Any comments out there on this? Is it easier to transport fully assembled? Cheaper? They will all be in SF soon can't wait!! Peter S

    From Shannon Falcone, he jokes all they did was change the paint.
