| It's a ketch, somewhere between 46' and 50' long, approximately 13'-14' wide, probably made of wood judging by the coloration, probably designed and built in the late 1940's or the 50's, and of a type generally referred to as a motorsailer.....due to the large deckhouse and short sailing rig. It's not an easily identifiable production boat, but that's not surprising coming from an era when almost every boat was built one at a time. And certainly a yacht this large would have been a one off project in those days. It appears there might be an American flag flying off the stern so I would guess it's not a British design, most likely it originated in the Alden or Sparkman and Stephens offices.

| It is not a European design, and definetively not older than from the sixties (built), imho. Alden would be my bet too. |

| I think I know what that yacht is, but the image is too small to tell for sure. Do you have a better, larger image? |

| Being cursed with an eidetic memory this also really really reminds me of a smaller one I inspected at the Lake Union Wood Boat festival a couple years ago. I can see the letters but can't remember the name. Some Swedish name Kurt??.... last name Belmers or Helmers something like that. |

| I'd say we have a winner.......good work WVan... That's a nice boat.....I doubt they'll ever get that kind of money in the US.....but it is a nice boat.....really chopped up into tiny spaces inside....not that great.....outboard rudder is nice....perhaps some influence from LFH's Albatross.......another nice boat with an odd interior..... Albatross as interpreted by Covey Island ![]() ![]()
