Reinforcing alu chainplates

The force of the stays is starting to wear the holes on the chainplates. What are the solutions to prevent stainless bolts to pull through the soft aluminium? Is there any standard way that is used in aluminium boatbuilding. On boatbuilder told me that he glues stainless steell tubing with Araldite into the holes.

Thanks

Simon

A steel tuubing set in epoxy sounds like a good solution.
Some nylon fittings may also work.

Esspecially on larger boats the chain plates should have sleeve inserts. Often just turned from 316 and press fitted. Ensure there is enough of the chain plate remaining for the larger hole required to take the insert.

Thanks for your responses, I will be going for the stainless steel inserts.
