At the very least back up your ignorance and stupidity with some courage and stop changing the signature

Totally unnecessary, gonzo. If you want a fight, I suggest visiting your local biker bar; they'll be happy to oblige you.

For goodness sakes, let it go, I change my sig files regularly, deal with it or 'go away' like you suggested.

Thinking of Rear Cockpit Steering

Howdy,
I've been looking at some runabouts where the driver is sitting by himself in the rear cockpit.
I have to say I like the idea of a center steering/seat position.
I have been working on a 1956 'Electric' Evinrude 'Big Twin' 30 hp motor originally accuired for my Feather Craft LS Hawk. I think it will be well suited on this runabout. I may have to put fuel cans under the bow when running alone, who knows?
Sincerely,
sorefeet

More Steering Options.

Howdy,
Too cold to work in an unheated shop forces me inside and to the computer where I found this set up.

Nice period piece. Is it in running condition?

Howdy Troy,
Not yet, I haven't looked at it as far as any testing. But it sure looks good.

Peter Hunn's book "Tail Fins & Two Tones

Howdy,

Bought a copy.

"Heating Assurance Inc. Nelson Boats. 124 Augusta, Spokane, Washington. This mystery listing appeared in The Boating Industry for December 1960 and December 1961. This is probably a classic case of an outfit savvy in sheet metal for heating duct fabrication that attempted to apply it's skill to small boats under the Nelson (for the company president, R,L, Nelson) trade name. It is believed that Nelsons were offered through much of the 1960's in a wide range of styles from fishing boats to small cruisers."

The caption under a cruiser photo: "Spied during late fall 2004in the side yard of a northern Idaho muffler shop was this Nelson cruiser. Boat makers often fitted their largest runabout with a modest cabin in order to attract buyers who envisaged exciting family vacations highlighted by a peaceful night moored off the leeward side of some little island. The porthole served to give this craft a beautiful nautical look. Nelson was one of the cadre of regional aluminum boat manufacturers to set up shop near a major aluminum plant in Spokane, Washington.

Great Reads

Howdy,

I've been reading Peter Hunn's book "Two Tones and Tail Fins" and "Cheap Outboards" by Max E. Wawrzyniak III.

Recomended for anyone with this disease.

Sincerely,

sorefeet
