| Anodes, welding or screw Hi all, On a steel hull replacing the anodes, what's your opinion should you weld the anodes directly on the hull or weld on some threaded rod (galvanised steel or stainless? what about electrolyses dissimilar metals?) and screw the anodes on? I'm concerned about welding them on, sure you can cover the welding strips with primer and antifouling but sure enough water can get behind the strips, the weld itself and some of the metal is blank metal so it's totally unprotected from paint.  |

| Welding is no option here. The anodes have an embedded steel strip with mounting holes. Use stainless bolts and nuts, so you can replace the anodes without difficulty after a couple of years. Do not worry about electrolysis, that is what the electrodes are there for.
