be sure you are buying formulated marine epoxies and not just the raw resin stuff purchased in drums for the giant chemical raw material manufacturers. The big good guys start with the raw materials and add to them for desired properties.

The super cheap guys don't.
You want to use a formulated product and one offered by a re-packager.
Also consider issues like blushing (bad) or non blushing (good - cost more)

another trick - email the vendor about anything and see if they reply back. If they won't bother with you before you buy, they certainly will not after you buy.

That's no test Stan, more of a playing around sort of thing. Raka isn't bad, though a bit thin, which is good for some things, not so much for others.

system 3 epoxy is based in Auburn, but by far not the cheapest.

Another local supply house is Fiberglass Supply up in Burlington.

If either were on your way to somewhere, you could save the shipping.
I have used system 3 silvertip for coating, and Resin Research for laminating and coating.
The Resin Research worked OK and compares favorably in price with anything out there, if you are in the neighborhood.

Again, if buying small quantities, then $60 a gallon is about the best you can do at retail.

I don't know anything about the epoxy but I do about economic ordering quanities. Why don't you get with other builders who use the same or similar products and buy in quanity. Have it shipped to one place or person who will break down the order and send it out to all parties, maybe that guy gets a little better price. You're goin to be paying shipping if it is not available locally anyway. You might also get some dealers to break out shipping and still give you a discount for group buys.
