Stainless V Strut vs Bronze V Strut

Is there any reason to use stainless v strut over bronze v strut? Which is better? If that is a loaded question, what are advantages of one over the other?

Depends on the stainless and bronze types. They each refer to a family of alloys.

You can have a stainless strut repaired almost any where. All of the broze ones I have seen are very nice castings and seem to last almost forever. The stainless welded ones I have seen can develop cracks at the welds from stress and bumps and vibration from misalignement.Stainless is just about all you see around here on work boats I geus it's relitively easy to costum fabricate.I don't think it will matter what it is made of when you nail a head. But I Think a nice solid bronze strut Is the cats ass.And you will find some beutifly welded struts on production boats.Go with the cheap one and keep it of the rocks i geus.

There is no zinc in bronze. Only brass has zinc.
