The right glue?

I am trying to find the correct adhesive to bond wood to fiberglass. Any info would be appreciated.

Not really. There are a lot of good manufacturers. But get something intended for marine or fiberglass work the big box stores like lowes and home depo have 'epoxy' but it isn't even close to the same thing.

Be sure and paint it if it's outside. Epoxy glue typically has no UV inhibitors.

West Systems

I use West Systems. It is not the cheapest but they have a really great product. I use a full line of hardeners and fillers with the epoxy. They have a training CD if you have never worked with it and a super easy pump system that meters the parts to a 1:1 pump system.

What about the next step, the carpet? This boat I expect will be heavily used. Is there a "high traffic" contact glue for the carpet?

No.. better to use "high traffic carpets" like alloy plate or glassfiber with 2K PU deck paint..
