Anyone have any long term experience with it?

My experience in the past with this kind of product is at that it starts to peel off and then the underlining adhesive is really hard to get off...

 

Deck covering selections are very dependent on what you want to get out of them. Once I did a comparison on a similar product and determined that it would be cheaper to epoxy nickles to the deck....and lighter also.

 

I haven't been able to find too many reviews but I hear that it's great for racing with a crew, for deck work and for sitting on the rails etc.

My only concern is, will it last.

Or, use the old Kiwi Grip.

My deck is very slipper right now.

No experience with that product, but I have used Treadmaster decking.

It works and has good durability

 

Yep, you got it about right, it works good for a while, then it separates from the backing or the adhesive and you're left with a sticky mess to clean off, before doing something else next time. Actually, the adhesive does come off fairly easy, if it's soaked with toluene for a while, then scrubbed.

 

This product is intended for race boats. One of the primary design attributes is light weight. Longevity and cost comes farther down the list. So it depends on your goals. Another product you can use underfoot on race boats is the so called "skate board tape". A little rough on the skin though.

 

The beauty of deck coverings is impact resistance. Drop a winch handle on a painted deck and it will ding, chip.

Deck coverings like treadmaster are VERY aggressive non skid . You cant kneel on it and if you take a fall , bare flesh will be damaged.

 

Coat the winch handle with rubber and it will hit business end first.
