So ive posted a thread on building and i found all the info very helpfull. While i look for plans for a offshore center console, i thought i would see about materials. Now i looked at a bunch of boat building websites and found the prices, a wee bit high (well for my teenage budget). I was wondering if anyone knew where i could get wholesale materials or materials at a cheaper price? If anyone has any extra or leftover materials that they are willing to part with, that would be o so helpfull. Anything will do. Just tell me what needs to be done or how much it will cost. Thanks

I've used it to build a kayak. Light and easy to work with but it brittle compared to Okoume or Meranti, in my opinion.

It snapped on me when trying to get it to conform to a simple bend. I've heard it will rot much quicker then other species of wood. No personal experience/observation to back that up. The kayak I built with it stays out of the water when not used and no deep scratches yet.

Thanks Matt, I think I will test it for internal structure first.
    Any idea where it's produced?
I mean, if it's made in Europe I don't want to buy it from USA :)

I bought my plywood from Allied Veneers. Saved $300 over the others. Amazing since they had to ship it half way across the US. Houston Hardwoods was close on pricing but the shipping costs were too high.
