integral fuel tanks

Looking for a bit of advice.

I am about to make an integral fuel tank. The hull is an epoxy composite construction.
What type of sealer / paint can I use to seal this tank. The fuel will be petrol / gas.

Novolac vinyl ester resin.

Last layer in contact with gasoline should be resin rich layer. We usually embedd a copper strip or SS wire mesh at the bottom to serve as a grounding plate (by electrical connection).

Most standards for gasoline powered boats do not permit integral fuel tanks. It's a matter of safety.

 

Ike, a similar query was running through my head, especially with this new fuel formulation at the pumps (15% Ethanol). Although I know that to some degree the whole "legality" of this thing depends on where you are. Both Country, & Locale.

 

That's why I said "standards". If it was US, Canada, Europe, etc I would have said "regulation". The person asking is in Dubai. I don't know if they have any such laws. But they may recognize ISO standards.

 

I think it is the ISO standard that is followed in the UAE for small watercrafts. Here are some ISO standards regarding fuel tanks.
