| info on cheap way to glass hull Hi I wondered if anyone can tell me a cheap way to glass the hull. Its stripped down to the bare ply now so we have to start on it soon.We are not worried about having a show boat, just doing repairs on it and want to get her into the water. We need to know what fiberglass mat/cloth and resin to use as not sure with all the types out there. Thanks Lorri |

| Since you've already had experience with a cheap 'glass job (and peeling it off), you should consider a more durable and more stick-um type of sheathing. You basically have three choices, polyester (which you likely peeled off and caused your rotting issues), vinylester is a little more costly but does a better job and lastly epoxy, which will stick it down good and costs a little more. Polyester doesn't stick to wood well and it's generally not a good choice. Vinylester is a better choice, but epoxy is the ticket and the hands down recommendation for many reasons, especially its ability to stick and stay stuck. |
