| Identify this epoxy please. Good day, btw First post We manufacture model boats/aircraft by vacuum forming laminates with use of West Systems at present. Our largest product is a 3.5 meter wingspan Sunderland flying boat. Our normal epoxy purchase size is 25 kg packs plus the usual vacuum disposables. We have gotten hold of some (top secret) epoxy from a acquaintance (he took the main lable off) but the ingredients are still on it. I was wondering if you could identify it from the following details? Main Epoxy Bisphenol A epoxy resin (> 60%) Bisphenol F epoxy resin (10-30%) Hexanedioldiglycidyl Ether (10-30%) Hardener Dimethyl Diamino Dicyclohexyl Methane (30-60%) Phenol > 10% Trimethel Hexamethyl Ene Diamine > 10% Mixture is (near enough) 3 : 1 epoxy to hardener. If you can tell me what type of epoxy this is then we will be buying this mainly for our business as the properties of it suit our requirements of thin, light, rigid and strong finished products. We would use it with woven cloth or bi axial cloth with (at times) carbon or carbon/kevlar reinforcing. Thanks, Kevin Last edited by kevinr100 : 12-19-2008 at 04:15 AM. Reason: Stupid error. |
