Grain runout limits

Would like to have others real life advice on how much a grain runout they allow on their strip planking projects.

How much money do you need? The grey area is huge on a question like this. Curve? thickness? glue strength? shock loads? it goes on for every location in a boat. Appearence, Is most important to some people. 4 people doing the same job, would pick different runouts. All might work.
