I'm currently planning on using gaboon marine ply as the core in the transom of my sterndrive powerboat.
Core will be 3 layers of 15mm ply with a total of 6 layers of 0/90 & +/-45 FRP either side, for a total thickness of about 51mm.
Any thoughts / comments on the use of gaboon?

    I used meranti on mine.(sailboat)
Was told, slighty more durable than gaboon.Heavier tho'.
Saturated with epoxy and similar layup, around 6mm each side.
