Flexible "fiberglass" wanted

Does anyone know sources for flexible materials that can be used to for example to smooth rudder/trim-tab transitions.

Not sure I fully understand what you mean! If you post a pic or a diagram I'm sure there's a material that would suit your application

More accurate description.

I am looking for a material with flexibility somewhat closer to vinyl but with fiber glass greater dimentional stability.

Typical fiberglass will flex some but break abrubtly at a certain stress point, it also has a very high memory (springiness). Its does not stretch nearly as much as for examply vinyls so it is easier to make a fairly thin layer self supporting over short spans.

One use would be to build a one-piece outer skin for a skeg and rudder so that a good foils shape could be maintained at all times.

I hope this clarifyes things a bit.

Thanks for responding.

What about fibre reinforced rubber, similar to that in high pressure hoses.

I'm still not sure what you are trying to do, why would you want to skin a rudder? Do you wish to adjust the foil shape, what type of boat is this on?

Epoxy can and has been formulated to have this quality. Most penetrating epoxies do. Call up an epoxy manufacture an talk it over with their chemist.
