| Flex Seal ? Has anyone used "FLEX SEAL" on a hull? Saw it on TV used for all kinds of water sealing problems and a boat was painted with it. They want ten bucks a can in the deal advertised, kinda pricey. You can paint over it as it's black. Just wondered if it's any good....thanks. |

| What do you want to use it for?

| I was thinking of using it for two things, one a camping trailer and the other is a wood boat. Wood butt joints, scarffed edges on a canoe maybe a cat, 18 to 24 footer. In the commercial it was shown painted on about a 12 footer, what appeared to be an aluminum V fishing boat. I never heard of this stuff and thought it might be some PVC or rubberized paint, they didn't say. |

| I mean, what purpose does the paint have in the project? Do you have a leaky boat that needs a quick and dirty repair?

| FlexSeal is an aerosol polyurethane sealant. It's much like the low cyanoacetate base truck bed liners and industrial coatings being marketed now. It'll work for a while to seal a seam or crack, but it will degrade with UV exposure and continuous "movement". It can be painted, which will address the UV issue, but it has limited applications in immersed situations on wood, which is likely why they selected an aluminum boat to cut the bottom out of and use for the demo. It'll work as a quick fix, but you'll be doing it again with fairly regular frequency. |

| from this video works lousy. http://www.myfox8.com/business/fox8o...,3980437.story I know you get better results using PL premium polyurethane construction adhesive in a cartridge. ![]() or any PL polyurethane cartridge. start with clean dry surface, no loose pine needles or shingle grains. never put a polyurethane on a soaking wet surface, since it is moisture cured, it will set before sticking to the surface you placed it on. |
