Fibreglass - how to

Just wondering if there is any good articles around that teach how to fibreglass, including making plugs and molds etc, also explaining some common types of glass construction methods.

Thanks all

Chris

You need much more than an article to learn how to fiberglass. There are many books on the subject. Each technique and application changes the "how to". Also, it takes a lot of practice and making mistakes. What kind of project are you planning on taking on?

Some guys in the office sometimes make Glass models of some of the smaller vessel that we work on. Thats what i was hoping to play around with.

I know that it will will take some practise before i start to get any skill and also that 1 article will not be enough. I have order a book on fibreglass, but while im waiting for it just wondering if there was anything out there on the internet that i could read??

Havent got the design of the vessel that i want to make yet, working on it now. And i think the only detail i do know at the moment is that it is going to be a mono-hull, i would have liked to do a Cat but i think this would have been too complex for my 1st model.

Thanks

Here is a source for instructional material for glass and epoxy. The book is dated but still covers the basics well.

They also have an online manual.

If it is a model, you can carve it out of foam and glass it over.
