Fiberglass/ resin best places to buy

Hi all,

I am looking for fiberglass, resin and gel coat. I was hoping for a shop but am having a hard time finding one.

I am in the Santa Clara/ San Jose California area ( read not going to the east bay).

Also what are some good online sources?

Thanks for the help.

www.fiberglasssupply.com

Sometimes their prices are less than what they list on line.

I've used some of the products from this e-Bay seller and they're ok and reasonably priced.

I second BBC too! Great service and after sales support.

Fiberglass Source

After years of using West System, I've had excellent success with U.S. Composites 635 epoxy that costs half of what the West stuff does. They also have excellent prices on rollers, brushes, fillers, spreaders, gloves, and all the other consumable stuff.

I've probably used 15 gallons this season and thier quality control is excellent.

West System makes the best mixing pots and re-usable stirring sticks if you're working in small batches -- the marine stores (West Marine, Boat/US) always have them.

Anyone know a decent place in the Uk to buy epoxy? It's about £20 a litre here, $40!
I'd be willing to buy a lot to stock up. Are there any cheaper brands that west's?

Your labour is worth much more than the cost of the Epoxy resin. If you save a couple of quid per litre, but use a product that is more difficult to handle or is less forgiving when adding hardener or has a shorter open time etc, it can cost you much more. Use the best materials and keep invoices and photograph the build. Follow the RCD and the finished boat will have a much higher resale value. Buyers need reassurance they are not buying a pig in a poke.

WEST RESINS are LLoyds quality. Vicem and Jarrett Bay use WEST RESINS.
