What about them damn wabbits? With a conversion rate of 2.2 lbs for a 2 oz fishing rod, a 10,000 pound boat would need 176,000 lbs of carrots. Can they grow that much and it still be a widespread, practical sort of thing? Sam

    Apparently it's for real !!

Some fellow in Fife, Scotland has made a fiber, as he claims:
" ....that is tougher ( More resiliant) than Carbon Fiber."

    - and has made fishing poles with the stuff.
    - It's a month before the 1 / April - so maybe it's for real ?!

A quick google suggests you should get 50 to 70 tons per acre of carrots - so you should get about 1.5 tons of 'boat' per acre.
    I got 5 acres - so I'm gonna grow me a 40 footer!:D

hope they come in colours other than orange though....
