| composit preforms Hello All I am picking back up my sea-kayak project. I have a few prototypes and am happy with the results thus far. Do any of you composit guys know of a (for lack of a better term) starch or soluable fixative so that I can fabricate my own layup pre-form over a undersize male plug. This of course saves a lot of time in cutting and fitting strait to the female mold. Am I dreaming here? This i hope will be a small shortcut in the production line of things. feel free to LOL 8Kts |

| How about a light spritz of some uncatalyzed resin? It might be sticky enough to hold the layers together and would dissolve when the preform is infused.

| el-sticko Yep sounds good! allso thought of clear gel-coat cut real thin? I wonder how much rigidity I can get out of this mad science. The preform will be just over 19' LOA and about 23" wide I will have to build a mobile support to carry the form to the mold Then just kind of "dump it in" Thanks for your time 8Kts |
