boat paint

i have a customer who is wanting to repaint his entire boat, (44' profile reported to push 100 mph) and he is worried about paint adhering to the bottom of his boat. the hull is done in gel currently but several patches of paint are visible on the bottom from prior repairs. im not familiar with paints myself so im here to pick brains for advice as to what brands/types of paint work well for the bottom of a high performance hull. is it all about imron? what are some other brand names of this same principle. what are the wear characteristics compared to gel? he claims (and ive heard others too) that automotive acrylic works well over gel but the customer is afraid it wont hold up on the bottom at speed.

This may help a little.: Google "bottom paint high speed".

tried that. all i got were links to the montana fishburne sex tape and a bunch of antifouling paint. we arent looking to do the antifouling bit he wants a finish he can spray on and walk away from. im pretty sure there are several builders who use paint for the entire hull so i thought someone would know what we are dealing with.

Awlgrip has been recommended most to me by those who have had their powerboats done.
