Aluminum and foam core construction

Does anyone know if foam cores can be used in aluminum boat construction?
Are there any potential bonding issues or other issues that one should be aware of?

aluminum skinned foam sandwich panels

I know aluminum skinned PVC foam core sandwich panels have been done before for some modular housing units, so I would think it would be possible for a boat.

I can't remember all the details, but the aluminum will have to be treated well before you can bond it to the foam. Try DIAB (www.diabgroup.com) for some information
