I have a small operation that builds ultra light weight (17 - 24 lbs.) wood/composite canoes. The labor hours needed to make and finish wooden gunnales is fairly high and I have been thinking about using aluminum gunnales on some models so that I could offer boats at a lower price.

Does anyone have know of any suppliers that have existing dies for extruding canoes gunnales? Do I need some sort of a roller to bend the extruded pcs to the desired curves?

I am located outside of Washington DC.

Thanks for your help in advance.

    Happy Boating

Try TACO metals. They specialize in metal extrusions for boats.
