Versatile Non Slip Flooring

www.dek-tek.co.uk

This revolutionary new product made in the UK fits together like ‘Lego’ and can be supplied with matching edges and corners. It can be cut with a Stanley knife to allow a perfect fit.

It is perfect for wet areas such as boat decks as it is non-slip and hygienic. The blue and yellow versions contain a fungicide that helps stop mould growth. It can be cleaned with a hosepipe or pressure washer.

It is great to stand on and is easier on the legs and feet than normal flooring and is available in the following colours, black, green, cream, yellow, blue, grey and terracotta.

Each tile is 300mm square. Each tile has a 9mm gap on the underside for drainage. There are connectors on two sides of each Versatile to enable them to clip together

Not if you have just cut them off as you say you can do to cut them to shape with a Stanley knife. How do you glue it to the deck. I can buy similar to this at the garden centre at Tescos.

Sorry Michelle this is not boat decking/ non slip. At best this maybe
a cockpit decking.

All feedback is welcome, but we have many satisfied boat owners who are happy with the product. The product is not designed to be glued to the deck of the boat as with some other boat deck flooring.

I think it looks good, but it's too heavy for small boats.

From
http://www.tekdek.net/html/technical.htm

"Thickness: 5 mm. Weight: approx. 6 kg per square metre"

That's a lot of extra weight when our deck is 8mm okoume plywood weighing less than 4kg/m2!

Not so new

You mentionned a new product?
I installed a very similar product in 1994 on my cockpit floor ( 2' X 6').
I bought it from Boat US and have seen it all over the place ever since( certainly viable).
Cannot be use on large area such as deck because it is not attached and if you put a side force with your feet when heeling, it goes up a few feet away. Extra load of 10 pounds is acceptable on my 31 feet boat. I have not found anything better for a cockpit floor. I rolled it to clean the floor. Just like new after 12 years of intensive ocean cruising. Maintenance free. Not expensive. Not too hot in the sun. Just a bit hard for the knee. Keeps the floor dry. Paint drips are easy to remove because it flex.
The same will go on my next cockpit floor .
