'Rare Earth Permanent Magnet' Generators?

I am looking for a cheap little generator to do work on the water,
maximum use would probably be running a power tool OR maybe lights at night and OR charging the battery- they say deal for sensitive equipment, TV, Computer, Exceptional motor start capability- so also charging up the laptop would be good..
I found a $299(Aus) add in the trading post about a 1Kva 950 watt 62db Rare Earth Permanent Magnet Sine Wave PS1000X.
They claim that it copes a lot better with inductive loads (such as power tools), and is generally more efficient.

I haven't found much other information about them,
have posted on wbf with no hits yet,
anyone have any experience or knowledge?

Thanks,
Hans.

ps- here is a pdf stats link

The permanent magnet generator has pure sine waves in its output voltage and current
similar to the AC electric waveform in a home. As such it can be used by sensitive
equipment like communication digital controlled equipment computer and so on. The
efficiency of the generator is very high generally 15%-20% higher than ordinary
excitation generators in the market. So when a conventional 2KW generator is unable
to start a 2HP (1.5KW) air conditioner a 2KW rare earth generator does.
