I am trying to locate a source of stainless steel over center latches to use to hold the windshields on a hard dodger I will be building for a client ajar for ventilation. What I am looking for would have an over center type configuration that would latch the window positively closed by drawing it against a gasket but also positively open. The range of movement need only be a few inches, just enough to allow ventilation. I have seen such a latch on a chevy astro van I had years ago and indeed a lot of vans have similar latches but they are not necesarly of materials suitable for use on a boat in a seawater environment. I have scoured the web but with no luck, probably not calling it by the right description. Any help would be appreciated.

    Steve.
