kFOIL™

This is to advise anyone interested that the kFOIL patent is actively for sale. This patent was granted May 3rd, 2005 ; Patent Number 6,886,481 B1 kFOIL™ is filed in the US only.
The patent covers a retractable, pivoting foil located inside of or on the bottom of a canting keel bulb. The foil is deployed upwind to add lateral resistance lost when the keel cants. It works in place of extra foils such as daggerboards or a forward rudder and allows for increased inside room, increased safety and lower wetted surface than most other solutions for canting keels.
Here are a couple of pictures of the foil system as shown on SA:

K Foil

Here are renderings and an updated e-mail address for me. Eric's is still the same. douglord@cfl.rr.com my phone: 321-868-2091 (after 6pm)
Please note, Erics e-mail in the first post is incorrect-this is the correct address: ewsponberg@sponbergyachtdesign.com

There are several variations not depicted in the renderings but they give the general idea.
