Handheld Windspeed

I am looking for a hand-held type wind speed device for use on small beach cats. Can anyone offer advice?

I am looking at the bottom-end of the scale and am mainly interested in doing performance testing. If there are any that are inexpensive (< $100), I would like one I could fix to the boat and get relative direction information also. I think I need some kind of limited data storage and able to download that information to a PC.
