GPS Recommendations

I am looking for a hand-held type GPS for use on small beach cats. Can anyone offer advice?

I am looking at the bottom-end of the scale and getting feature overload looking at all the sites. I am mainly interested in the speed and heading information and want to do performance testing. I think I need some kind of limited data storage and able to download that information to a PC. From what I can tell, there is no moving map type stuff in the $99 class. If you think “some feature” is handy and adds a (say $30) increment, please add that suggestion.

Thanks for all your help.

Hi

The boards forum has a fair bit of advice on GPS devices, may be worth searching for the subject on their forum. To get you started heres a link to one discussion

Good Luck!

How about Garmin eTrexLegend @ $130 versus Magellan eXplorist 200 @ $140? Any preferences/complaints on either one?
