| 47' sloop/shed/tools for sale as package deal $20,000 US or O.B.O. This is a 47' x 32' x 11' x 6'9" Sparkman and Stephens design built by Thomas Knutson in 1939 in Long Island NY. African mahogany on oak, bronze fastened, 10,000 lbs lead ballast, 26,000 lbs displacement. A full rebuild has been started. Work thus far includes removing interior, deck and house top. Replacing the forekeel, sternpost, stern knee, deadwood with purpleheart. Removing and installing new 46 pairs of bent white oak frames. Replacing 46 floor timbers with purpleheart. 6 pairs of frames left to be replaced in counter. Replacing about 20% of planking; about 20% needs to be replaced. Rebuilding the oval section spruce mast. Reinstalling the Perkins 4-108 on new Stainless steel engine beds. I have most of the original bronze hardware. The boom, 2 spinnaker poles, staysail club are in good shape. The working sails are in good shape (12 bags total). Includes also 600 b.f. of 5/4" african mohagany, 1000 #14 x 2 1/4" BFHWS. Shed is a 22'W x 56'L x 20'H bow roof shed (temporary construction) with 110/220 V single phase power. Currently located in storage yard in Port Townsend WA at $200/mo. |
