| 1:1 epoxy resin and hardener. Anyone intersted in epoxy glue "pe918 yacht glue"? I am able to order for about 17 USD/Kilo freight Included, this is from a china based Company. This is an example to order to sweden. I assume it almost is the same for most of EU countries. I am not sure what about the freight to for an example to US. But I think It will be cheaper then it is for shipping to Sweden. Also this price is for express delivery. So I think the delivery time to Sweden is about 5-7 days. For bigger chippings About a ton the price will decrease I think. As I am not a very rich man priority the rent and food for my family, this factory has promised me to sponsor with epoxy for my next projekt. If I am able to find new customers. Anyone interested?

| I would not use Chinese epoxy. You have no idea what is in it. They put deadly chemicals in sheetrock they sold us. Sent over dog food that killed many of our pets and killed over 1,000 of their own people by putting milamene in milk. Buy at your own risk............................................. |

| Then now I do wonder how much of the epoxy that does have oem from other countries. Then actually is imported from China. It isn´t harder to do this then actually import the epoxy and fill it over to another bucket. And then say the Epoxy is for an example Swedish. But why do this? All you have to do is ask for a table of contain and get a cert. about the containg. Then it is actually criminal attend to put something else then the table of content says.

Is DOW epoxy made in EU better than DOW epoxy made in China ? Since apparently they are good at poisonous chemicals maybe they are very good at making epoxy. |

| Isvflorin! I do think that you are very right in your post! Seems that you do knaw quite well about this. Also I can also mension that if I was about to build a bigger prodessional boat then I should use a product as the west system or an equal product. Because a feil would cost so much more so the price of the ep would be worth some kind of warranty. Of course then we are willing to pay for the garrant. Then I would not ask very much from where the product is actually produced. I would find a product that I know works.

| epoxy Well, I'm not saying it is good or bad, I just won't dismiss it cause it is made in China. I am aware of boatbuilders that buy epoxy from small independent companies, with formulations specific to their needs. Epoxy is almost like a pizza, if you are dealing with a smaller company they may throw in a specific formula for your needs. If there is a significant price advantage I would certainly look into it. Talking about epoxy manufacturers : I bought Resoltech/Bostik epoxy supposedly made in France, cheaper than WEST but customer support is ...zero. I had some trouble with my hardner bottles and sent lots of emails to Bostik and local supplier, nothing back, so I would never buy again. WEST is known for excellent customer support. Well known brand is definitelly reassuring. Furthermore, if you can publish a datasheet from the manufacturer ppl will be able to compare apples to apples. Florin |

| Interesting facts, if the stated viscosity is Brookfiled standard that means this epoxy is aproximately 4 times more viscous than "regular" epoxy. That is not good for wetting fibers. This probably means this type of epoxy is more like a glue but not intended for fiberglass work, it could be used as a glue for filling gaps, could work with fillers too, used as protective layer aswell. It could be a great epoxy for making artwork and casting parts with it. However the high viscosity will make it hard for wetting fibers, especially carbon. Current epoxy I'm using is rated 2200mpas and I consider it pretty viscous, but ok for wet layup. Florin |
