| reverse flow on jet drive is it possible to put a simple gearbox (forward neutral and reverse)between engine and jet drive and shift it into reverse at idle to suck water in the nozzel and flush weed out the intake???????  |

| Yes. Some of Volvo's jet drive packages came with such a gearbox a few years ago (not sure about now...). This does add complexity, but does give you the back-flush capability and also allows you to run the engine in neutral without creating thrust at the jet.
