| retrofit jet drive A few years ago I ran across a company that was building a "retrofit" jet drive. I believe it used a standard Berkley type pump and drive. It was sold with either V8 or V6 power. The motor was mounted above the pump and was built into its own Positive boyancey housing. This housing would be attached to the back of the transon and replaced the drive unit where a standard inboard outboard was located. Does anyone know who this manufacturer is. I believe they were located in Florida. Thanks for your Help! |

| Heya, You're probably thinking of the JetPac, built by Sword Marine. It was a conventional inboard diesel or gas engine, mounted above a jet pump in a self-contained housing that would be bolted to the transom like an outboard. It's been mentioned in a few old threads around here. There was some kind of factory shutdown recently and rumour had it that they would be back in production a few months ago. I haven't heard much about it since early last year.
