can i run a berkley jet out of the water?

Hi, does anyone know if it will harm a berley jet unit to be run out of the water ? is there a way to hook up a garden hose to run it?

Yes, a Berkeley jet can run dry, there is nothing in it that needs to be wet.
But you have to provide water to the engine behind it by removing the supply hose from the pump body and hooking up a garden hose.

The rope seal on the mainshaft will need water for lubrication at high rpm or extended dry running, especially if they have been over-tightened, as they usually are.
